The other day I learned that women who ride on the back of their boyfriend's/spouse's/friend's bikes call themselves "riders". I suppose the statement is correct, after all, I ride a rollercoaster at the amusement park even though I don't operate the controls. Yet somehow, I feel like these women with all the gear and stuff are just posers. Get your own bikes ladies!!!

Today I'm going on a big group ride. I've never gone riding in a group larger than 4. This will be interesting.

A haiku from Mark Sink, a Diana+ photographer.

flight with light plastic
my love huntress Diana
lightbox of my soul

I got some awesome images off my Diana+ Edelweiss while in Bryn Mawr for a friend's wedding. I also got some crappy shots - all of them indoors. I have learned my Diana does not like to be indoors without a tripod and/or flash. I bought Nick a small travel sized tripod for his digital that I think I will put to use. I will also think long and hard about shelling out the $60 ($45 "grey market" ebay) for a flash, but they are all turquoise in colour! Boooo...

I also want to get some black spike tape. I didn't get too much light leaking, but I think there are times (most of the time) that I want to prevent light leaks. Just don't know where to get this tape locally.

I love me some lo-fi analogue photography! Only thing is, to share it online, I have to get all high tech and figure out how to use the scanner with my negs.

Seriously, my lunches should look like this. I wonder if this kid even gets to eat his lunches, or if he gets beat up for them every day.

I used to have a picture of my cat, looking imposing and overlord like, as one of my icons. When I went to use it today it was replaced by a black box with white text that read, "I'm Pro-Choice, And I Pray." WTF? Did this happen to anyone else?

I just got a used iPod shuffle off ebay because running with my video iPod in its belt clip tends to eventually pull my pants down as I run. As entertaining as that might be for others, I'd rather run without having to pull up my pants every 30 seconds.

I'm happy that it holds around 500 songs! I was hoping to put a few cds' worth of music on it but I'll fully load it with jams for the gym and running. Thing is, it came already fully loaded with stuff and it's good. I don't know who the artists are, but I'd like to add it somehow to my iTunes library. Can I do this without messing up my own iPod and library?

*edit - oops, I got the 1 GB, so it's 240 songs, not 500. It's still a lot more than I hoped to get on there. I also just typed in some lyrics and searched the artist: the song in my ears right now is "The Waitress" from Atmosphere's 2008 album When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That S#!t Gold". Apparently they're an indie hip hop group from Minnesota. (There's rappers in MN??!)
